So, if you know us you’re thinking Tom and Adele went to San Antonio for the Final Four?!!? Hardly. We just happened to be passing thru San Antonio on Friday, April 4. As we approached the city we saw a couple of blimps soaring overhead, but couldn’t make out the image on it. As we got closer we could see an extended arm and hand gripping a basketball. Then we figured it out.

We had heard that the San Antonio Riverwalk was something worth seeing so that was our destination, and of course let us not forget the Alamo.
The River Walk was so alive with people, music, and food. Our pictures don’t do it justice. It really is a beautiful site.

I was surprised to see that our whole trip from southern Illinois to Texas was populated by Cypress trees, which I can now identify by the tell-tale knees growing down below. They were especially beautiful along the Riverwalk.

The day was quite warm 90°+. We would’ve liked to have spent more time at the Alamo, but I was spent.

We left San Antonio en route to Big Bend, a two day trip. We have camping reservations in Rio Grande Village, Big Bend from Sunday to Saturday.
Our stay last night was in Fort Stockton, Texas. We woke up to chilly weather.

We’re on the road now and about an hour from Big Bend. Communication this week may be sporadic.
