We were intending to spend Thursday and Friday in City of Rocks, NM before heading to Tucson for Easter with Mary Jo and Tom, but while talking to some fellow voyagers we learned about Balmorhea State Park in Texas and I just had to see it for myself.
This park has the largest fresh water pool in the world. It is built in a natural spring in the middle of the Texas desert. 22-28 million gallons of fresh spring water flows into it everyday.

The air temp was 93° and the water is a constant 73°. The water is crystal clear with no Sulphur smell. There are also fish and turtles in the pool.

More than half the pool is 15-20’ deep with a natural bottom, the rest is more like a conventional pool.

The water is constantly flowing out in a crystal clear river with lots of catfish and turtles.

It’s amazing how few people are here. The campground is brand new and is about 3/4 full.
Two great days in a row. Bigger driving day tomorrow and Saturday, should probably buy some powdered donuts.
