Ok, in order to dodge some pretty scary weather to the north and south of us, we ran an end play out to Little Rock. Our original plans were to run the length of Mississippi on the Natchez Trace National Parkway and end 2 days later in Natchez, MS. We ended in Natchez anyway by way of Arkansas and Louisiana with only a minor hail storm and quick cover at a gas station along with about 9 other vehicles.

We went to mass Saturday evening at St Mary’s Basillica in Natchez, built in 1843.
It’s an amazing church with so much history. There are 21 stories to the top of the steeple. I can’t imagine what it would take to duplicate it today and if we even have the craftsman.

We will spend all Sunday here riding bikes around town.
Then on to Grand Isle out in the gulf, south of New Orleans. I’m so anxious to see the Gulf of America for the first time.

Thankfully you’re a storm avoider rather than a storm chaser. Beautiful church — the stained glass windows are stunning. We don’t see that anymore.
So much for the plan on Natchez Trace! Mother Nature knew better for you.
Looks like you are covering lots of territory. You can celebrate when you get to the Gulf of Margaritaville!!
We are so glad you were able to avoid the storms.
The church is beautiful. Thank you for sharing stories and pictures.
🤣Gulf of America
So fun to follow your travels, to hear your thoughts and the photo galleries too. Looks like a great trip for you guys.
Glad that you made a detour to avoid those storms. Hope you don’t get caught in anymore. What a beautiful church. It’s The Gulf. Let’s all just call it The Gulf.
